I was there.
The community definately needs a COMPLETE change of board. Of the four board members running for re-election two seem bored and didn't really want to be there (maybe pressure was put on them to run). The other two spilt their position on the Gross Receipts Tax. All of the past board members basically said the same thing, get the money from the state, again implying that "money - referendum passing" is going to improve education.
I was especially happy to see a few new faces that stressed the main objective of the school board - raise GPA. Also glad to see a couple canidates "genuinely" stressing the responsibility of keeping spending to within the "budget" - not sure MY budget can keep up with property taxes raising as much as they did with the passing of the referendum. I didn't see many "vote YES for the kids - (save sports)" supporters.
